Last Monday I downloaded the BioShock demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace and, needless to say, have been caught up in the hype. With 240 possible weapon combinations and the ability to freeze, roast and electrocute enemies, how couldn’t I be? I’ll be honest - I was totally blindsided by this game. I was looking ahead to Madden 08 and even further ahead to Halo 3, but… wow. I actually held off on my Madden purchase and it looks like that money will instead go towards this gem.

The truth about the demo, though, is that you really don’t see that much. It gives you a taste of the gameplay without giving it all away. The demo actually makes you want to purchase the full game to see what you’re missing out on. In the demo, you only get a wrench, a pistol, a machine gun, and the ability to launch fire and electricity from your hands. There is much more the player is capable of, but we won’t get our hands on that until this Tuesday. Until then, more Rainbow Six: Vegas for me!
