So, here’s some news…

“So, here’s some news.  The Eagles didn’t lose today.” -A friend

Yes, finally, the Philadelphia Eagles did not lose this week.  Granted, they had a bye week, but this is still a pretty special weekend.  While Donovan McNabb was browsing for an Orlando vacation home rental (hey, the guy had a free weekend to think about retirement) I sat here in my apartment and wondered why my team has played so poorly the past few weeks.  My conclusion?  Someone is drugging the coaching staff.  They must be.  Take a look at last week’s game - how long was Winston Justice getting owned?  All game.  What help did Andy Reid send out there for him?  None.  They fed him to the wolves, and as a result Donovan McNabb was sacked enough to count every blade of grass on the field.  It was horrifying to watch.

My wish for this week?  That the coaching staff looks at the tape and figures out what they did wrong.  It’s going to take awhile, because there’s a lot.  I won’t blame any of the players for the loss last week.  Andy Reid’s job is to put his players in a position to win - he didn’t do it.

  1. Your roommate story is pretty bad too, I empathize. As for the Eagles this season, at least you didn’t have to see them get destroyed in real life against the Giants. It was my first game and it was so depressing. Maybe something magical happened over the bye?
