College in the OC decides not to bundle condoms with newspapers
Free condom, page C1? Not so fast.
After complaints from students (who?!) at CSU Fullerton in Orange County, CA, officials have decided not to include complimentary condoms in the next edition of the student run newspaper. The inclusion of condoms with the paper went hand in hand with a university-wide safe sex campaign. The idea was that, because students would actually have the condoms in hand, they might use them. Now instead, the newspaper will include coupons which can be redeemed at the student health center for condoms. The fear now is that students will be too embarrassed to cash in on their coupons - they’re probably right.
