For anyone who regularly visits GorillaTrades.com, this may come as interesting (and good) news for you. The Gorilla from GorillaTrades has now started his own blog over at Gorilla Off Topic. If you love hearing from your primate friend about stocks, you can now get his opinion on social issues and the news of the day; at least, that’s what the blog promises. Does it live up to it’s promise?

I was expecting something very gimmicky at first – you’ll be pleased to know that I was wrong. The Gorilla has posted almost daily and his post topics have hit a wide spectrum of interests, from the First Amendment to recalled Chinese toys. The blog is, as the tagline promises, about everything but Gorilla Trades. There is a lot of insight coming from an animal who can’t speak a word of English but certainly writes it quite capably.

One particular post I enjoyed was about “High Rolling Preachers” supposedly doing God’s work while blowing money on things like giant Mansions, private jets, $23,000 toilets and so on. You would think the Gorilla might be hesitant to tackle such touchy subjects – however, he just bulldozes right on through without being offensive.
