I know a lot of guys in college who thing that just because they played a game or two of poker, they know what they’re doing and actually attribute their wins to “strategy”. I wrote a post a few weeks ago about an online casino guide. I’ve recently come across another one and I have to be totally honest – this one is the best one I’ve been to so far.

A lot of my friends are pretty die-hard Texas Hold’em fans. I’m not big on card games, myself, but after a while they got me to play. The first time I played, I won. I was tipped off to a pretty nifty reverse auction game called Bid4Prizes. From what I gather, the premise is that you bid on an item and the lowest unique bid actually wins it. What you can win varies – free gifts like the iPhone or an HDTV, or cash prizes.

While bidding does take place on the items, it’s all for fun – you won’t actually pay the final price if you win the auction. You’ll win the sweepstake if you are the lowest unique bid, which is a bid that no one else has tried to enter. Say the price is up to $100. If you bid $101, no one else tries to bid that same amount and the auction ends, you win! It’s as simple as that.
